GARY AIKEN, CANDIDATE FOR MASON DISTRICT SUPERVISOR, SENDS MESSAGE ON PROTECTING RELIGIOUS FREEDOM
(by Mary Tanzer)
At the June 29th joint Republican women’s meeting, the program topic was “The Dangerous Rise of Antisemitism in the Democrat Party,” with guest speaker Eric Rozenman, communications consultant for the Jewish Policy Center, and author of Jews Make the Best Demons: ‘Palestine’ and the Jewish Question. Eric reminded the audience of William Faulkner’s quote, “The past is never dead. It’s not even past.” He presented the history of the term “anti-Semitic,” and discussed racism and today’s impact of being labeled “racist”. . . an irredeemable indictment. He closed the wide ranging discussion with the fully engaged audience by stating the biggest problem today is indifference.
Antisemitism and religious freedom are issues of high interest to our candidate for Mason District Supervisor, Gary Aiken. In fact, they were motivating factors compelling Gary to enter the Supervisor’s race. He could not attend the meeting; however, he sent a message presented by campaign operations point of contact, Mary Tanzer. His message is shared here.

Dear Colonial and George Mason Republican Women,
I am sorry that I cannot be with you today. As you may already know, two issues compelled me to enter the race for Mason District Supervisor. The recent attacks on the Jewish Community Center of Northern Virginia and the Lutheran Church nearby were one of the two.
Mason District is a majority minority district. The Board of Supervisors has a duty to protect minority groups – especially religious minorities. Our district is home to churches, synagogues, temples and mosques of all religions and denominations.
Over the centuries, the Jewish people have been scapegoated for the problems of others, demonized, and persecuted. After the atrocities of the Holocaust, the State of Israel was created as a Jewish state. Since then, the world-wide left has created false narratives to destroy the only democracy in the Middle East. They try to hide their obvious antisemitism as anti-Zionism.
American Christians of all denominations and our leaders from George Washington to Donald Trump have been champions for the right of Jewish people to practice their religion freely, contribute to the growth of our society, and live without fear of the persecution and death that followed Jews in Europe.
My family was forced to leave the Ukraine in the 1890’s and early 1900’s. They found refuge in America. With your help to push back the leftist movement of today, Jews will find refuge in America for centuries to come.
Let’s win together.
